GRIM MOTHER'S SIGH
I’m Imprisoned by my whispers
Their bars I cannot see
In my high fence mind, in a barbed-wire bind
Chanting circle surrounding me
Our sight is clouded by ghosts
Parasites we are their host
Ghastly voices lamenting death
Guiding chorus sing loud this final breath
Waking cosplay lives become nightmares
The mask removed brings sleep
The Grim Mother’s sigh, dimming light from eyes
Candles lit, no one to see
I’m Conjuring all of their ghosts
A seance to a realm so remote
Memories of the haunted soul I’ve been
Casting shadows ripple through time’s expanse

Whose flesh is gone and soul laid bare?
Diseased lungs at war for air
An eagle’s scream and fire’s roar
The sky weeps ash as we try to soar
This forest burns, with arms outstretched
Towards the heavens in parched reverence
Ungodliness to give all life
dressed in our own decay and painted with our strife
And what will remain?
With shells cast off is this what remains?
The disguise has failed to persuade
Angelic light simply wings set aflame
Is this descent all that remains?

They Drift through walls the ghosts in you
